The area
Located in the Park of the Madonie, where there are extensive walking trails that lead to small villages and into the higher mountain areas where there’s an amazing 1,000 year old holly tree and 600-800 year old maple and oak trees. On the trail one can find the remains of the traditional thatched roof shepherd huts and in some cases the shepherd is still using them to make the local cheeses.
